I think the issue is that they are too full. I have had other pods of a similar style that have less grounds in them (still strong coffee even at full cup) and they do not break.

What causes it, is the needle/blade at the bottom of the Keurig cutting the pod when it fills with water. I might find another keurig container and just rip that *** blade out so I can use it with the non-plastic pods. I too am on my 4th Pod, and they have ALL broken, dumping their entire payload of grounds into the bottom of my coffee cup. I had to pour it between two mugs 3 times to get rid of most of it...

And in the end, I have a half cup of coffee cause you can never pour it perfectly, some spills... grr...

Reason of review: Faulty Design of Pods.

Monetary Loss: $20.

Preferred solution: I won't be buying more of these pods until this issue is resolved. Either send out a replacement Keurig pod holder without the needle, or contact if they change this and verify it doesn't happen anymore. Send samples of new products and I will test it..

I too have had the same problem in approximately 1/3 of my pods lately. I suspect the small rubber gasket is weakening with age (around one year of normal usage).

Lately, when brewing McCafรฉ pods I take a small piece of paper towel (1 x 4 cm) and fold it into a square, then bend that square over the top of the bottom pin before placing the pod in.

Not extremely elegant but no more grounds. Iโ€™ll continue to search for a new gasket
